Reduce stretch marks

A closer look at pregnancy skin

How women are reducing stretch marks.

The honest story of stretch marks: why they happen, which advice actually holds up, and what nobody tells you at the first scan.

Presented by SoKind

We started paying close attention to pregnancy skin because it's what we make products for. The more we learned, the more we noticed how much of the common advice is outdated or simply wrong.

What follows is what we found, whether or not you ever try what we make.

Somewhere between the first scan and the last month, something happens to almost every woman's skin.

No one quite prepares her for it.

It isn't mentioned in the pregnancy apps that tell you the size of a fruit each week. It's the quiet moment in front of the mirror when you notice a mark you didn't have yesterday.

For some women it appears early. For others, not until the final weeks. For some, never at all, and even dermatologists can't fully explain why.

"A stretch mark is not something you did wrong. It's simply skin, growing faster than it's built to stretch."

If you're reading this with one hand pressed against a new line across your stomach, wondering whether it's too late, you're not alone.

And as you'll see shortly, some of what you've heard about it isn't quite true.

Yumin's story

"The marks from my previous pregnancies are hardly noticeable."

★★★★★Yumin, Verified buyer · Third pregnancy

This is Yumin's third pregnancy, but her first time using a belly balm like this one.

"I used a belly oil for my first two pregnancies, which still left me with noticeable stretch marks and a very dark belly. I truly can't believe the contrast I've observed this time. I'm 38 weeks pregnant, and the marks from my previous pregnancies are hardly noticeable."

"The texture is my favourite part — it absorbs completely, with zero sticky residue. I've already used four of the six tubs I ordered."

Why SoKind exists

Skin deserves better than a repurposed lotion.

SoKind started with a question that hadn't really been answered: why does most skincare marketed to pregnant women feel designed for someone else's skin?

Shelves of stretch mark creams, formulated the way ordinary body lotion is, not for skin that's stretching and more reactive than it's ever been. We started in Danish pharmacies, where that gap was easy to see. Now we ship directly to your door.

That gap is the reason Love Lines exists.

The category problem

Built to moisturise. Not to support stretching skin.

Moisture matters, but it doesn't reach the deeper structure of skin: the collagen and elastin fibres that decide whether skin stretches smoothly or tears.

The science, briefly

Pregnancy skin isn't just drier. It's under different conditions entirely.

Skin stretches significantly in months, while hormone shifts change how collagen and elastin, the fibres that give skin its strength, are produced.

Skin also becomes more reactive. That's normal, and why dermatologists often suggest simplifying a routine now, not adding to it.Love Lines jar, clean product shot

Why Love Lines exists

Built around one question: is this genuinely good for changing skin?

We kept noticing the same gap: skincare made for pregnancy was treated as an afterthought, not a category of its own.

Love Lines is fragrance-free, vegan, and Allergy Certified. It's safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and 98% natural origin.

It won't promise to prevent every stretch mark. No honest product can.

The evidence

We don't ask you to take our word for it.

In clinical testing, Love Lines showed:

72%
reduction in the appearance of stretch marks
27%
reduction in stretch mark width
22%
improvement in stretch mark colour
Myths vs. facts

What's actually true, and what isn't.

Stretch marks attract more unsolicited advice than almost anything else in pregnancy.

Myth Cocoa butter (or any oil) prevents stretch marks.
Fact No topical product can promise that. Genetics and hormones play the bigger role. What a good formula can do is support elasticity and improve the appearance of marks that form.
Myth It's genetic, so nothing helps.
Fact Genetics matters, but it isn't the whole story. Well-supported skin tends to respond differently, regardless of where you started.
Myth Once you have them, it's too late.
Fact Existing marks can still visibly improve in colour, width, and texture. "Too late" isn't really a stage that exists here.

The five minutes at the end of the day

A small ritual,
not another routine.

Most skincare gets used quickly, in front of a mirror. This one tends to happen differently, usually in the evening, when there's finally nowhere left to be.

A few quiet minutes. Warm hands. For some women, it's a moment entirely their own.

For others, a partner's hands take over. It's one of the few tangible ways to take part in a pregnancy happening to someone else.

Just five minutes, at the end of the day, that are quietly, entirely yours.

In their words

not superlatives.

it's a good time to begin.

Pregnancy is doing something remarkable to your body, and a few marks along the way are evidence of it, not a flaw in it.
