Dubai, Without Perfume

Presented by SoKind

Dubai isn't giving up perfume. It's taking it out of skincare.

Oud isn't going anywhere. Neither is bakhoor. But underneath the fragrance, something quieter is changing.

This was never about giving anything up

A lot of women in Dubai wear fragrance every day. A signature oud in the morning, bakhoor through the house, something layered on for the evening. None of that is changing, and this isn't asking it to.

What's changing is a smaller, quieter decision underneath all of it: whether the cream going onto a pregnant belly, or stretched skin, or a newborn's nursery, needs scent added to it at all.

Scent and skincare used to sit in the same category by default.

But what if they were two separate decisions?
How do I want to smell?
And what do I want touching my skin every day?

Meet Kasia

Kasia is currently pregnant, based in Dubai, and has spent the last months documenting her own stretch-mark routine online: unscented, unhurried, applied morning and night. What follows is entirely her own: her photos, her captions, her words.

What fragrance-free actually means

Fragrance-free doesn't mean anti-fragrance. Perfume, oud, bakhoor: those are worn on top of skin, in the air, on fabric. A daily skincare product has a different job, applied directly onto skin that's often stretching, sensitive, or shared with a baby, several times a day, for months.

Fragrance-free simply means we haven't added fragrance for the sake of scent. It comes from a simple SoKind philosophy: if an ingredient doesn't need to be there, why add it?

Less, but better

SoKind is Danish, built on a design instinct that shows up everywhere in Scandinavian life: restraint over excess, and a discomfort with anything in a product that isn't earning its place. Fewer ingredients, chosen more carefully, rather than more ingredients to fill out a longer label.

That instinct isn't a replacement for how fragrance and skincare are approached in Dubai. It's a different half of the same idea. Dubai already treats scent with real intention: an oud chosen for the occasion, bakhoor for the home, a signature that says something specific about the person wearing it. Love Lines is built with that same intention, just applied to what goes on the skin underneath all of it.

Less isn't the opposite of luxurious. It's what's left once nothing else needs to be there.

What's actually in it

Love Lines is formulated with natural and organic ingredients and is AllergyCertified: an independent certification, not a claim SoKind makes about itself, confirming a formula has been tested and verified for low risk of triggering allergic reactions. It's earned per formula, not assumed across a brand.

The full ingredient list and current certification details live on the product page, since sourcing can be refined between batches. What's not in it matters just as much as what is: no synthetic fragrance added to the formula itself. Made with carefully selected ingredients including aloe vera, sal seed butter, jojoba oil, sea buckthorn and lima bean extract. No fragrance. 98% of natural origin.

Yumin's story

"The marks from my previous pregnancies are hardly noticeable."

★★★★★

Yumin, Verified buyer, Third pregnancy

This is Yumin's third pregnancy, but her first time using a belly balm like this one.

"I used a belly oil for my first two pregnancies, which still left me with noticeable stretch marks and a very dark belly. I truly can't believe the contrast I've observed this time. I'm 38 weeks pregnant, and the marks from my previous pregnancies are hardly noticeable."

"The texture is my favourite part, it absorbs completely, with zero sticky residue. I've already used four of the six tubs I ordered."

What women are saying

"I'm genetically predisposed to stretch marks, got them in puberty and my mum got lots in her pregnancies. I am one week postpartum and used Love Lines from 12 weeks, and didn't get a single stretch mark on my stomach. I'm continuing to use it postpartum as the balm feels so good."

★★★★★  Verified buyer

"My skin is ridiculously soft after using this cream. I did not have stretch marks my last pregnancy and used it all along, but that could be genetic or skin type. Ordered again this pregnancy."

What a fragrance-free routine actually looks like

In practice it's less of a regimen change than it sounds. Cleanse as usual, apply a fragrance-free balm, and give it a minute to absorb before layering anything else on top. The difference isn't a new step, it's a missing one: no final scented lotion added purely out of habit.

If fragrance is still part of the day, it's applied separately and deliberately, a scarf, a wrist, the air in a room, rather than built into every product along the way. That's really the whole shift: not less care, just more intention about where scent belongs and where it doesn't.

Common questions, answered plainly

Doesn't a product need some scent to feel like it's actually doing something?

Not really. Scent is a sensory shortcut, not a sign of how well a formula works. The ingredients underneath are what do the work, whether or not there's a smell to announce it.

Isn't "natural" just a marketing word at this point?

It can be, which is why certification matters more than the word itself. AllergyCertified is a third party verifying the claim, not SoKind describing its own product.

Will a fragrance-free formula work as well as what I'm used to?

The formula is built on the same natural and organic ingredients doing the functional work either way. What's missing is only the part that was never doing much besides smelling nice.

Does it work alongside the fragrances and oud I already wear?

Yes. Love Lines has no scent of its own to compete with a perfume, an oud, or bakhoor. It's designed to sit underneath whatever's worn on top.

How is this different from a normal "unscented" lotion?

Many "unscented" products still use masking ingredients to cancel out a raw material's own smell. Fragrance-free means nothing was added for scent in the first place, including nothing added to hide it.

Is Love Lines safe to use while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Yes. Love Lines is fragrance-free, vegan, and AllergyCertified, and is safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Does SoKind ship to Dubai and the wider UAE?

Yes. Love Lines ships directly from Denmark to the UAE.
