Help & FAQ

Products & Formulations

What is different about SoKind products?

Because the skin is the largest organ we have and a porous one, our bodies absorb whatever we apply to it. For us, skincare is a health matter and an aspect of well-being for us as well as our babies. We have meticulously selected the highest quality of ingredients and ethically sourced these locally, whenever possible, to create high efficacy formulations for skin-deep nourishment and wellbeing.

Our products are free from any potentially harmful ingredients and grounded in our principles of purity and natural, effective ingredients. We’ve designed all of our formulas and packaging to be kind to your body and our planet.

Are SoKind products vegan and cruelty-free?

All our products are vegan and have never been tested on animals. They comply with the EU restrictions on not testing cosmetic products or ingredients for cosmetic purposes on animals.

Furthermore, we’ve also banned all ingredients known to be harmful to our environment, animals, and people. We will constantly try to adapt to new scientific research and testing to create products and formulations that are kind to our planet.

Are SoKind products all-natural?

Our products are naturally powered and it is important to us that every ingredient in our formulas must be kind to you and your baby's body.

We have banned hormonal disruptive and other proven-harmful additives from our scientifically-backed, pure formulas to create the safest products for both babies and mothers.

We strive to make our products as natural as possible and continuously try to adapt to new research on plant-derived ingredients.

Where and how are the products made?

All our products are designed, developed,  and produced in Denmark.

Limited by a small national manufacturing scene, we source our ingredients, packaging, and bottles as close to our production site as possible to minimize our ecological footprint.

What is the shelf life of the products?

All our products have been through various tests to ensure a shelf life of up to 12 months after having been put to use.

Are the products formulated for all skin types?

Our products are formulated to be kind for especially sensitive skin prone to allergies, though all our products can be used on all skin types.

We do, however, believe that skin reacts differently to new products and your skin may respond better to one product over another. We know it is scientifically impossible to claim that our products are a cure-all for all skin issues. We guarantee that we selected some of the highest-quality ingredients, and intentionally formulated each product to deliver the desired results.

If you are not satisfied with your SoKind product, please get in touch at hello@sokind.com.

Is your packaging recyclable?

We strive to use easily recyclable materials and we trust that our customers take great effort and responsibility in making sure that the packaging is channeled into efficient recycling and recovery routes.

All our boxes are made in eco-friendly FSC-certified paper and boards that are biodegradable. Our bottles are made in endlessly recyclable glass, recyclable PET and HDPE, or biodegradable bioplastic extracted from renewable and sustainably farmed sugarcane.

If you are unsure where to deposit your bottles you can always use the internet or ask local authorities where you can find the nearest recycling location.

All our suppliers must comply with our code of conduct within sustainability, ethical, and quality requirements.

Why are your products fragrance-free?

We have always and forever banished fragrances, natural as well as synthetic, from all our skincare products to make each product kind to sensitive and allergy-prone skin.

All fragrances, both synthetic and natural ones, are formulated with supporting ingredients such as preservatives, fixatives, diluents, solvents, and colors.

Natural and fragrance are two generic terms with no official regulatory definitions. Uncertainty about what a natural fragrance is actually composed of leads to a lack of transparency, accountability, and credibility. With our principle of purity in mind, we made it easy and ruled out all fragrances. And, we think that babies should smell of babies, naturally.

Mom Care

Are your products safe to use while breastfeeding?

All our skincare products created for mothers are safe to use while breastfeeding.

Because a baby is in such close proximity to the mother when nursing, being skin-to-skin, and cuddled, a mother’s skincare products can irritate the baby’s sensitive system. A baby’s skin is thin and delicate and more likely to pick up traces from skincare products and develop allergic rashes or eczema that can be triggered or aggravated by exposure to fragrances and allergenic substances.

Each formula has been consciously developed to nourish the skin of pregnant and breastfeeding women, without any potentially harmful substances.

Are your products safe to use during pregnancy?

All our products are grounded in our principle of purity and are safe to use for pregnant women.

A mother’s body goes through so many hormonal changes during pregnancy and breastfeeding that prior skincare routines that haven’t aggravated the skin in the past may now cause skin irritation. We have blacklisted hormonal disruptive and potentially harmful ingredients from our scientifically-backed, pure formulas to create the safest products for mothers and babies.

Do I need to wash off the nipple balm before breastfeeding?

You won’t need to wash off our nipple balm before nursing your baby.

Our Pure Kindness nipple balm is powered with natural ingredients that are all safe for both mother and baby. The formulation is free from color, dyes, taste, fragrances, and alcohol.

Baby Care

What is the best age range to use the products?

SoKind can be used by all ages.

During the first few weeks a newborn baby doesn't need to be bathed often and only rarely needs soap and lotions. If the infant's skin is dry we recommend adding a few drops of bath oil in the bathwater, to prevent skin from drying out.

As the baby grows older it will need a little soap and lotion to get clean and keep skin from drying out. Our products are developed to gently cleanse and nourish baby, toddler and children skin without exposing it to any allergenic, disruptive, or harmful substances.

How often should I bathe my baby?

How often a baby needs a proper hair wash depends on how dirty the baby is and also on how much hair he/she has - babies with a lot of hair may need to have their hair washed more frequently.

If your baby loves to bathe every day you don't need to wash his/hers hair in every bath. Because a baby's hair produces very little oil, we recommend washing it with a shampoo only around two times a wee.

How do I treat a nappy rash?

Almost all babies using diapers get nappy rash at some stage no matter how carefully you look after your baby's bottom. Prolonged dampness, friction, and ammonia substances released from wee are some of the main reasons for a nappy rash.

We recommend giving your baby's bottom a little fresh air to let the skin breathe daily and to change the diaper frequently to keep the nappy area dry. This will help prevent nappy rash and give your baby's skin a chance to heal. Applying a nappy balm after each diaper change on freshly cleansed and dry skin may also help protect skin from rashes.

A nappy rash can be painful and irritating. If a rash is spreading, isn't improving, or if blisters, pimples, or crusts appear, we recommend that you consult your pediatrician.

The nappy balm doesn't make my baby's nappy rash disappear.

There can be many reasons for why your baby has a nappy rash and it will take some time for your baby’s skin to repair itself. However, a nappy rash can be complicated and if it does not improve within a few days, we recommend that you consult a pediatrician.

Conditions like eczema, psoriasis, thrush, or impetigo may make nappy rash worse. For these conditions and infections with bacteria your pediatrician might prescribe particular ointments for treatment.

How can I be sure the products are safe for my baby?

All our products are developed with mild ingredients kind to sensitive skin and consistent with baby skin’s natural pH - to preserve the skin barrier.

We have forever banned all hormonal disruptive, allergenic, and other potentially harmful ingredients from our scientifically-backed, pure formulas to create the safest products for babies and mothers.

These are just some of the compounds we banished from our labels:
/Alcohol
/Fragrance
/Animal-derived ingredients
/Acetone
/Dyes
